Amazing Colors of Ice Dyeing
January 17th 10 am to 1 pm and January 18th 10 am to noon
NOTE: There is a 24 hour waiting period for the dyes to batch before they can be washed out which is why the class is taking place over two days.
Learn the thrill of revealing the amazing colors created by ice-dying. The ice dye technique involves preparing fabric by pre-soaking it in a soda ash solution, then scrunching or folding it before covering it with ice. Powdered fiber-reactive dye is sprinkled over the ice, and as the ice melts, it draws the dye down through the fabric, creating unique, organic watercolor-like patterns with potential color splitting.
